Private Music Lessons
Did you sing in school or college but haven’t done so since? Have you always wanted to sing, but don’t believe you have the skills? If so, let’s get together to make a great sound! In this class, we will learn the basic elements of singing, such as the physical process, pitch, rhythm, and expression. Depending on students’ skills, we will work on one part and two part songs, including traditional songs, show tunes, and maybe even some a capella. This class will provide a safe and supportive space to discover the joy of expressing yourself through singing.
Fiona Vidal-White began singing in a youth Choir at the age of 8 in her native England, spent some time training as a professional singer, and then came to the US to study for a Masters Degree in Sacred Music. She works in the Episcopal church, and champions group singing with all ages. She has sung with many choirs in Boston including Seraphim and Boston Cecilia. From her teens, she has encouraged and taught people who believe they can’t sing. She has taught individual and choral singing for many years. In addition, Fiona has been fascinated by alternative modes of education ever since surviving seven years in a girls church foundation boarding school, followed by a degree in performing arts where group learning and self-directed learning was the norm. Both her own children, now adults, attended local schools through middle school, but both struggled with school in totally different ways, and Fiona had to become an expert in alternative means of education for their individual needs. She also ran a homeschooling center herself for a short time.
