    Through our Adult Education program, we hope to provide quality lifelong learning experiences that are accessible to a wide range of community members, including high school students. Please see the details for each class listing. Current CDC guidelines will be adhered to in all cases.
  • Middle School Programs

    Enrolling for Summer Programs Now! View and REGISTER HERE Explore old & new hobbies, expand your mind, and engage with classmates!! The Needham Community Education (NCE) Middle School Programs offers high quality enrichment classes that appeal to all students. Registration information will be provided on a rolling basis to all families as classes become available. These fun classes, taught by Needham Public Schools staff and other qualified professionals, enable students to extend their learning beyond the classroom in a relaxed & social environment. Refund Policy: Participants may withdraw from a class and receive a refund, less a $15.00 processing fee, if you notify NCE on or before 2-weeks from the start of class. Refunds are made by check from the Town of Needham and may take up to four weeks to arrive by mail. No credits or refunds can be given after the deadline date, once a class begins, or for missed classes.     Enrolling for 2024 Summer Programs Now! View and REGISTER HERE Please note that classes fill quickly. Registrations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Needham Community Education (NCE) offers a variety of enrichment programs for grades k-5, located at all Needham Elementary schools. NCE provides students with joyful and educational opportunities in the areas of visual arts, active play, science exploration, chess, technology, and beyond. If you are looking to support your child's interests in a space that is welcoming and inclusive, NCE is the place for you! Enrollment Policy: Students may only register for NCE classes at the school they currently attend. Health and Safety: As NCE is part of the Needham Public Schools, NCE programs will adhere to all health and safety guidelines in place for Needham Public Schools.
  • Private Music Lessons

    Private music lessons greatly enhance a student's success and enjoyment of a musical instrument. A student's improved level of individual performance translates into greater achievement in school ensembles, increased opportunities through recitals and select groups, and builds self-confidence. We are excited to continue offering Private Music Lessons with our talented group of musicians from NPS' Fine & Performing Arts Department. Needham Community Education (NCE) will assist you with the registration for Private Music Lessons and support families who need financial assistance. Program Details: Private Music Lessons are offered to students in grades 1 through 12 and taught after school at the Needham Public Schools. In some instances, remote lessons can be arranged through Zoom. Lessons are provided throughout the school year and are taught in two semesters - 15 lessons each semester for a total of 30 lessons. Lessons will begin in September. In order to enroll, please follow these simple steps: 1) If you haven't already, contact your Private Music Lesson Teacher to check on their availability. 2) Decide with your teacher when and how long of a lesson to schedule. We offer 30-minute or 60-minute lessons billed at $38 per half-hour lesson. 3) To enroll & pay log into your Eleyo account and select the class "Private Music Instruction". Make sure to answer all required questions about your instrument, teacher, day and time of your lessons.   • Summer Explorations 2024

    Grade ranges represent the grade that your child will be entering in the Fall of 2024. Scholarship assistance is available for Needham Public Schools students with financial hardships. No student will be denied access into an NCE program because of inability to pay. Any student on scholarship is eligible to join one week at a reduced rate. Those with hardship may apply for 60% off one NCE week per session, per child. Those participating in the State Public Assistance Program may receive 85% off one NCE week per session, per child.
