Are you or your student starting to worry about the college admissions process? This interactive session will give parents of any high school student an understanding of the college admissions components, and what they can do to reduce the stress often associated with the process. The class will include information and tips for topics including SAT/ACT tests, college visits, the steps to create a great college list, how applications are reviewed, and types of financial aid. *Please note price change from catalog. Paying for college can feel overwhelming—but understanding how college costs actually work can make a big difference. In this class, we’ll break down the key components of the college financing system in plain language. You’ll learn how income and assets are considered on the FAFSA and CSS Profile, the difference between need-based and merit-based aid, and how to interpret a college’s sticker price versus its true net price. We’ll also look at common mistakes families make, strategies for maximizing eligibility, appealing an offer, and comparing schools that use different financial formulas. You’ll walk away with a clearer understanding of how to reduce college costs and make informed financial decisions for your family. Limited to 30.

This program for high school Juniors introduces first-time, standardized test takers to the PSAT and provides helpful strategies. The course is in preparation for the October 17 test date offered by NHS.

This Middle Level ISEE course is designed for students who may be applying to independent/private schools for grade levels 6-8. The virtual nine-hour course, five-night workshop includes a proctored full-length practice exam, and it is designed to give students a complete overview of all sections of the ISEE. By participating, students will become familiar with powerful ISEE strategies and improve their knowledge of the most commonly tested topics - from finding slope to vocabulary-in-context. The skills and tips learned during this intensive workshop will provide a strong foundation for your student’s ISEE preparation. The course also will provide diagnostics that can guide further targeted preparation, either for the exam or in school.
