Sports cards are making a comeback! With them you can collect your favorite players, teams, and card styles, creating your own personalized card vault. This class will teach students how to value their cards, determine which trades are reasonable, and negotiate terms for each trade. Students will also learn about different stars of each sport, important events, great moments, and even discuss some low points in sports history, such as corked bats and pine tar in baseball. At the end of each class, students will receive a pack of cards from a sport highlighted that day. Class time will be spent learning, discussing, and trading. NOTE: Students are welcome to bring sports cards from home. However, all cards must be kept in a container or binder in backpacks until the NCE class instructor gives permission to take them out. Please discuss with your student about proper usage and care for their cards during the school day, before NCE time. All valuable and sentimental cards should be kept at home. NCE is not responsible for lost or traded cards. 2 classes total
