Spring Registration will begin March 3rd at 7am. 


 Don't miss the AFTER SCHOOL CLASSES, NEW EARLY RELEASE DAY CLASSES (many for 6th grade only) and the NEW FIELD TRIPS (for 7th and 8th grade).

Explore old & new hobbies, expand your mind, and engage with classmates!! The Needham Community Education (NCE) Middle School Programs offers high quality enrichment classes that appeal to all students. 

These fun classes, taught by Needham Public Schools staff and other qualified professionals, enable students to extend their learning beyond the classroom in a relaxed & social environment.

Refund Policy: Participants may withdraw from a class and receive a refund, less a $15.00 processing fee, if you notify NCE on or before 2-weeks from the start of class. Refunds are made by check from the Town of Needham and may take up to four weeks to arrive by mail. No credits or refunds can be given after the deadline date, once a class begins, or for missed classes.

Whether you've got a smartphone or a fancy camera, you'll learn how to level up your photography game. We'll explore fun indoor and outdoor settings, and you'll get personalized tips and exciting assignments to help you see the world in a whole new way. Discover key techniques like composition, perspective, and lighting to make your photos pop. Just bring your fully charged smartphone or camera, and get ready to capture some amazing shots! We'll have extra cameras on hand if you need one. Beginners and returning photographers welcome! Please BYO lunch!

25-26 Middle School Winter

Pickleball 4-Day Tournament with Sports Zone (Grades 6-8)

Over the course of four action-packed classes, middle school athletes will compete in a fun and structured pickleball tournament designed to build skills and spark excitement. Each class begins with skill-focused warmups and short coaching sessions to improve serving, returning, footwork, and shot selection. Players will then rotate through singles and doubles matchups, gaining valuable experience while learning how to communicate, strategize, and make quick decisions on the court. As the tournament progresses, players advance through round-robin play and elimination rounds leading up to a final championship session. The program is welcoming to all skill levels, emphasizing fair play, confidence, and continuous improvement. By the end of the four classes, every participant will leave with stronger fundamentals and a deeper love for the game.

Pottery with a Purpose (Grades 6-8 Early Release Day)

Looking for a fun, screen-free early release day activity in Needham? Our Early Release Day Pottery Workshops give students a chance to explore real ceramic clay while having a blast with friends in our welcoming studio. Students learn beginner-friendly hand-building techniques and create functional pottery that we fire and glaze to be waterproof and food-safe. 3/18: This session invites students to design and create their own handmade vases. Perfect for spring flowers! They’ll learn to sculpt, shape, and decorate their piece, which will be waterproof after glazing + firing.
