This program is for those with basic knowledge of Modern American Canasta rules and gameplay. Using instruction and guided play, we will reinforce rules and discuss higher level strategies such as signaling, special hands, sevens, aces, wildcards, and more. Limited to 9.
Beverly Hoffman Shire and her daughter Emily Shire have been game enthusiasts their entire lives Now retired from a career as a teacher, principal and special education administrator, Beverly has more time to pursue her passion for games and to teach others how to play some of her favorites, which include Mah Jongg and Canasta. Bev’s daughter, Emily, a seasoned Canasta player, will be co-teaching the class. Emily is a high school special education teacher/inclusion facilitator in a neighboring town. They look forward to co-teaching the class again and sharing their love of the game.
