In The Great Outdoors: Winter Edition, we'll immerse ourselves in the natural world surrounding our school. We will explore our sleeping garden, learn how local wildlife adapts to the cold, and discover nature's winter magic through imaginative games and projects. From building woods forts and animal shelters to crafting ice art and tracking nature on the trail - snow or no snow - we'll use natural materials to spark creativity and collaborative play. We'll also learn how to care for our environment during the colder months. Through these hands-on adventures, we will cultivate a deep appreciation for the season and a love for outdoor discovery.

Note: The winter outdoors provides endless inspiration. Students should dress in warm layers and be prepared to spend time outside during each class. On days that do not allow for outdoor time, the outdoors will be observed and enjoyed through windows, books, hands-on activities and our imaginations!

5 classes total

NCE begins immediately at the end of the school day. All students enrolled in an NCE class (including those in NEDP) will be dismissed from their classroom to the designated NCE waiting area, where they will be supervised by the NCE Onsite Coordinator until their NCE Class Instructor arrives. Students are welcome to have a nut-free snack during this time.

Pickup is promptly at 4:00pm. NEDP students will be escorted to NEDP at the end of their NCE class.
