Needham Martial Arts Center Master Instructor, Tom Adams, designed this self-defense program for non-martial arts students. While the best way to guarantee your safety is to avoid conflict, what tools and skills can you employ when someone harms or threatens you? How prepared are you, both physically and mentally, to protect yourself? This training will teach you eight simple to remember vulnerable points on the body and a number of different ways to attack these points. None of the moves require a high level of athleticism to be effective. During the four class sessions, you will memorize and practice the techniques. The repetition will build greater confidence in your ability to use the tools and fight back if needed. In addition to the physical tools, we will discuss key psychological aspects of different conflicts. Important things to do or not to do that can greatly increase your chances of survival. Note: Wear comfortable clothes for exercise and bring clean comfortable shoes that you will learn to kick with.
