Join NCE for a fun week of creating the perfect decor for any teen's room. Sola flowers are handmade wooden flowers that are natural, biodegradable, and sustainable. Not only are these eco-friendly blooms a beautiful and affordable alternative to fresh flowers, but they are also built sturdier and last for years, which makes them the perfect DIY home decor item!
Students will learn several techniques on how to color the flowers, from dip-dye to hand painting, including multi-tonal and ombré designs. Students will use their creations to make a beautiful floral arrangement on either a wood plank or a bulletin board. Everything made will have a "wow" factor!! Friends and family will be bound to say everything from "those look real!" to "those look magic!". Throughout the week, additional accessories or small room decor can also be created to compliment the main attraction. Or if the student is feeling thoughtful, a gorgeous flower arrangement can be created as a gift for someone special in their lives.
No experience is needed. They are hand painted, but precision is not required. Projects are carefully chosen to ensure results that all students will be proud to display.
** Students are encouraged to bring a smock or old shirt to class each day or to wear clothes they don't mind getting dirty.
