Tri Something New

Adult Education / Be Active -
Adult Summer 2024

Have you thought about doing a triathlon, but are intimidated by all those intense athletes? Are you looking for a new challenge and adventure, but just don’t know how to get started? You are probably wondering: What’s involved? How much time do I need? What gear is necessary? What does training look like? What happens on race day? In this course, Coach Adina will answer all of your questions and help you build a training plan so you are ready to complete your first triathlon with confidence. We will work toward participating in the Title 9Women’s Triathlon on Sept 8, 2024 at Hopkinton St Park. This small race is known for its fun atmosphere and safe course geared toward first time racers. Over two classroom sessions, you will gain practical information about gear, training, nutrition, and what happens in an actual race. You will learn what goes into a good training plan and get assistance creating your personal plan. An open water swim clinic will cover water safety, wetsuit usage and swimming in a group. We will meet for a group run and discussion on running for triathlon. This program will provide you with the knowledge and motivation you need to reach the finish line. Coach Adina will be there for race day support and to cheer you on! Limited to 10. Note: Register for the Title 9 Women’s Triathlon as soon as possible at https://www.maxperformanceonline.com/title9race. Participation is optional; the race fee is not included in the class fee.
