Private Music Lessons
Before potters had the wheel, they used coil, slab, and pinch methods to develop their clay work. During the first class, you will learn and employ these techniques as you craft little sculptures of mushrooms, ladybugs, conches and fairy houses that will add color and delight to your garden.You will create up to 3 pieces ready to be bisque-fired. In the second class, you will decorate with underglaze (similar to watercolor) and pick the color of the glaze for the final firing. This class is suitable for all experience levels; no prior experience or skill is needed! All necessary materials, including clay, underglaze, glaze, and tools, will be provided. Note: A $30 materials fee is payable to the instructor in class.
Simone Azevedo was a senior executive for over 25 years and in 2019 she changed directions and started studying hand-building ceramics and has a studio at home. Simone has expanded her love for ceramics and now also does watercolor and embroidery where she explores colors, textures and patterns. Nature is a big inspiration for the work Simone does.
