Continuing Watercolor Workshop: Lemon Tea with Lemons

Adult Education / Create and Make -
Adult WS2025

In this workshop, you will learn how to simplify a photo of a mug and a lemon and focus on the objects to make them feel real on a flat piece of watercolor paper. We will discuss how light lands on this cylinder "form" (the mug) and create a study in black and white to understand the light planes before moving to create this in color. Multiple watercolor techniques to be demonstrated include "wet in wet" graded and variegated washes, masking, dry brush and glazing. A video of the 2.5 hour workshop is provided afterwards. A materials list can be found here.
