Private Music Lessons
Whether you’re a Mama Rose at heart, a Sky Masterson type, or Dolly Levi herself, this is your gateway to Broadway’s most fabulous Divas! Each session focuses on a famous Diva (or Divo) and explores the vocal theatrics that define each famed singer. Students will watch a show every class, highlighting a signature performance of our Diva/Divo of the Week. Class will include spotlighting legendary performances, pinpointing specific vocal idiosyncrasies, and a discussion of the dramatics of each Diva.
Andy Papas has sung leading and featured roles with Boston Lyric Opera, Skylight Music Theater, Pacific Opera Project, and The Lyric Stage of Boston, among others. St. Louis audiences have heard Andy twist his tongue as the Major General (The Pirates of Penzance) and Ko-Ko (The Mikado) for Union Avenue Opera, and he returns to UAO next summer for his third Bartolo in The Barber of Seville. The first commercial recording of Marc Blitzstein’s The Cradle Will Rock (Bridge Records) features Andy as the gangster “Bugs,” a role he performed with Opera Saratoga in 2017. With Opera Saratoga, Andy also performed Baron Zeta in The Merry Widow, and he was cover for the title role in Falstaff. He is a graduate of The University of Michigan, and received his Master of Music from the University of Houston. Go Blue! andypapas.com
