Are you fascinated by sea creatures, jungle cats, or birds of prey? Do you wish you could pet every dog, feed every horse, or examine every insect? If you're curious and excited about the animal kingdom, then this class is for you! Together we'll journey through the amazing world of animals as we learn about their habitats, behaviors, and adaptations. This class blends creativity and discovery: we'll craft animal-themed projects, engage in imaginative play and storytelling, share personal experiences, and investigate animals that coexist with us. Using both the indoors and outdoors as a space for adventure, we'll celebrate curiosity, encourage exploration, and cultivate a deeper appreciation for the animals we know and love!
Note: We may also have a visit from Officer Rocket, Needham's Certified Community Resource Dog.
Instructor: Caitlin MacDonald, Instructional Assistant, Broadmeadow Elementary
ACTIVE EXPLORATIONS: In addition to the outdoor movement and break times planned by each instructor, students participating in full-day Summer Explorations classes will enjoy a 40-minute active break each day led by highly qualified Needham Public School P.E. and Wellness Instructors. During this time, students will head to the gym or venture outside to get some fresh air and move their bodies. Whether it's a brisk walk around the grounds, high-energy running games and relay races, or exciting team sports and activities, this time is a great way to break up the day, get some energy out, and boost focus for the rest of class!
