Introduction to Bird Watching

Adult Education / Experience and Explore -
Adult Fall 2026

Birds are all around us and often we don’t even notice. Taking up bird watching will enhance every walk in the woods or day at the beach! In this class, you will learn about two amazing apps for your phone that will help you identify birds and keep track of the birds you have seen. We will then go on a morning walk to practice our newfound skills and see how many different bird species we can identify together. Note: Please bring a pair of binoculars (8 x 42 recommended) to the bird walks.

Bill Paulson is an amateur birder having found this interest a few years ago. Since then he has accumulated hundreds of birds on his life list and is really enjoying the world of birding. Hikes in Massachusetts and Maine along with two trips to Costa Rica have provided wonderful bird watching. For work, Bill is a realtor here in Needham. At home, Bill has a beautiful wife and two dogs. Their three amazing girls are all grown and launched into the world.
