In this class, you will continue to iron out material covered in topics covered at the intermediate level and focus on using passé composé versus the imperfect tense and implementing object pronouns and adverbs in both simple and compound tenses. You will also further develop the three basic skills of listening, speaking, and reading while learning about French culture and history. Through one-on-one tutoring, we will reinforce and strengthen four skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking. Students will learn mnemonic devices to master the subjunctive, prepositions and conjunctions. Customized challenging homework exercises will be provided to bolster your current course. Once you have registered, the instructor will contact you regarding scheduling.

Would you like to speak Spanish fluently, already have a knowledge base of advanced grammar and a wide vocabulary base but need to practice and improve? In this class students will be required to prepare presentations of a topic of their interest, current events, etc. The group will listen and discuss the content of the presentation, learn new vocabulary and review grammar points. This relaxed French conversational class will allow the opportunity for Conversational French and French Café students to gather, with Barry, for in-person evenings of engaging conversation during their class intersession.

This program is designed for students who are already proficient in the skills taught in all previous levels and who want to increase their conversational and reading abilities. Conducted entirely in Italian, this course provides students with an opportunity to markedly improve their speaking and listening skills. The Winter Advanced section will read Se Questo è un Uomo by Primo Levi. The Advanced Spring section will read Un Segreto di Famiglia by Roberto Borzellino.. The books are available in paperback or on Kindle. Lessons will entail book discussion and advanced grammar topics. NCE's talented foreign language instructors offer private/semi-private lessons online! Each registration allows for 1 person (or 2 people together) to schedule either 4-hours or 10-hours of lessons directly with our instructors. Open to students of all levels who wish to improve their French, Spanish or Italian language skills. Instructors will find work with you to establish a mutually agreeable lesson schedule. Packs are valid through June 30, 2025. There are no refunds or credits for unused time.
