This course covers the essentials of estate planning. We will explore the estate planning process, the benefits of estate planning, and the issues to consider when developing an estate plan. You will learn about the various estate planning documents such as wills, different types of trusts, health care proxies, and powers of attorney and their importance. Additionally, we will touch on such topics as charitable giving, long term care planning, and estate taxes and how they can play an important role in estate planning.
Michelle M. Mulvena, Esq. is the principal at Mulvena Winston, PC in Stoneham. She has been practicing law for 22 years primarily in the areas of estate planning, Medicaid and disability planning, guardianships/conservatorships, and probate and trust administration. Michelle developed a thriving fiduciary services practice where she serves as trustee, conservator, and personal representative. Michelle works with families, seniors and disabled individuals to help them achieve their goals through proper planning. She frequently lectures on the topics of estate planning, estate and trust administration, disability and Medicaid planning. She is a contributor to the Elder Law Guide published annually by the Massachusetts Bar Association. Michelle is a member of several organizations and boards including the Special Needs Alliance, the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Massachusetts Guardianship Association and SCM Transportation in Somerville. Michelle graduated from New England School of Law (now New England Law/Boston) in 2001.
