Private Music Lessons
This class is perfect for players who already know the basics of the game and are looking for the opportunity to increase their speed and confidence while familiarizing themselves with the new card. Instructor Sharon Katz will move around the room, offering advice on which hand to pick and game strategy. The four tables will be labeled by speed: 35-40 minute game, 25-30 minute game and 20-25 minute game. Note: You will need a 2025 Mah Jongg card, which you can purchase online from the National Mah Jongg League: https://www.nationalmahjonggleague.org/store.aspx#
Sharon Katz has a Master’s in Education from Boston University, and has worked with children and adult learners for more than 25 years. Sharon has taught Elementary Math, Reading Comprehension, Written Expression, and Executive Functioning Study Skills at independent schools in RI, CT and MA. She has lived in Needham with her family for many years. Sharon is a game enthusiast who loves to read and practice yoga (especially on the beach). She has played Mah Jongg for more than a decade and has been teaching the game for the past several years and has taught more than 500 students how to play! Sharon relishes the opportunity to fuse her passion for the game of Mah Jongg with her professional training as an educator.
