Fly Fishing Fundamentals

Fly fishing is a fun and rewarding method of fishing, and a relaxing way to enjoy the great outdoors! This program is for people who have little or no fly fishing experience. You will be introduced to the essential skills needed to get started in this sport, including: the fundamentals of fly fishing tackle, fly casting, knot tying, fishing techniques and fly selection. Upon completion of the program, you will be able to cast a fly and catch a fish. Bring your own equipment or borrow equipment provided by the Needham Sportsman’s Club.Participants must be aged 16 or older (or 12 and older accompanied by a parent). In the event of severe weather, the class will be moved to Sunday.

Bob Lynch

Instructor

Bob Lynch has been fly fishing for 45 years. He is retired from an IT career and enjoys fishing as much as he can. For the last two summers he has taught fly casting for a major regional retailer. In the class he will be assisted by experienced members of the Sportsman’s club.
