Needham Community Education

In this inspiring art class, students will venture outdoors to become immersed in the natural world. They will carefully observe the intricate lines, vibrant shapes, and captivating colors and textures that surround them. From the smallest bug to the tallest plant, we will use the Sunita Williams garden, pond and outdoor classrooms to explore the outdoors. Through mindful observation and the collection of natural fragments, students will gather inspiration for unique and creative art projects. Utilizing a mixed-media approach, students will experiment with a variety of materials, transforming them into fabulous works of art. This class encourages an appreciation for the natural beauty around us, fostering a deeper connection to the environment.

Note: Even on cloudy days or during gentle rain, the outdoors provides endless opportunities for artistic inspiration. Students should be prepared to spend some time outdoors during each class.
