Join NCE at Needham Community Farm this summer! The farm invites you to join us for our most exciting season. Students will help the farm plant, weed and harvest our crops, prepare beds for planting, make and spread compost, and other important projects around the farm! This opportunity allows students to help support the farm’s important work combating food insecurity in Needham while learning about sustainable growing practices. It's a great way to enjoy your summer and fulfill school or other volunteer requirements.
Needham Community Farm has a CSA program and also provides fresh, healthy, sustainably grown produce to the Needham community through the Needham Community Council Food Pantry, which serves over 400 income-eligible families a month, and their free Mobile Market food distribution at four Needham Housing Authority sites.
Allergy Alert: Students will be eating and/or working with plants & food including legumes (snap peas and green beans) and a wide variety of fruits and vegetables.
Note: Drop off and pick up students at Needham Community Farm. There is no class on Friday.
