Concrete is more than a utilitarian material…it can be used to craft unique vessels and art objects. Have fun experimenting with concrete as you make four items: a succulent dish, a trinket tray, an egg and an item of your choice (selecting from 20 molds that the instructor will provide). You will learn how inexpensive items can be used to create beautiful pieces. All necessary materials will be provided. Just bring your creativity! Note: The second hour of class will be used to allow the cement to cure. During this time, you may go for a walk or eat lunch. The 3rd hour will be spent unmolding and sanding your projects, as well as painting the inside of your egg.
Peg Kearney, Concrete Artist, has been making concrete items for 5 years. She started learning about concrete because she wanted a new countertop. She took several classes and found she was hooked. Did she build her new countertop? No. Instead, she made various types of concrete art. She now focuses on the art, and teaching others! #concrete chic by Beton Designs.
