Take a deep dive into the rich European art collections in the Museum of Fine Arts. Each tour date in the series focus on galleries showcasing art from different periods. Whether new to the museum or a longtime fan, your guide, a longtime MFA docent and art museum enthusiast, will enlighten you as you travel through time to see how European art has changed over the centuries–covering the periods of Ancient Greece and Rome through Impressionism.
Paula Lyon-Green began a lifelong love of museums as a little girl growing up in New York City. Though her studies and subsequent professional life were in psychology, she has always felt most at home in museums. She moved to Needham in the late ‘70s, sharing this passion for art museums with her family, including her two sons who attended the Needham Public Schools K-12. In addition to her long career working in psychology, she began studying art history formally in the early 2000s by becoming a docent at both the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum & the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and has continued to give tours for over 20 years. Now, having recently left the medical field, she has even more time for studying art history and sharing it with fellow art enthusiasts.
