Join us for this relaxed introductory class to discover the beauty of wax-based Prismacolor Colored Pencils and the amazing realism you can achieve to create drawings that look as if they were painted. This class will cover everything you need to know about colored pencils and how to use them. Learn about blending styles, color layering effects, color mixing, value relationships, and pencil strokes for rendering realistic images. Your comprehension of light, color and shading will blossom as you explore this exciting medium. Emphasis will be on colored pencil techniques and classwork will include a variety of step-by-step instruction of colored pencil drawing exercises and projects. Students will receive both group and individualized instruction to develop at their own pace. Explore the richness and vibrancy of this often overlooked medium. All levels are welcome. Eddie Bruckner is a professional visual artist who creates original acrylic pop-art paintings and teaches personalized, in-home and online art lessons for children & adults in painting, drawing, colored pencils, & a variety of other fine art mediums. He has a BA from Brandeis University, two master’s degrees, and is a Grumbacher certified art instructor. His paintings are held in private collections throughout the world, and have been exhibited in galleries throughout Greater Boston, the United States, and the world. Eddie is an active member of the Wellesley Society of Artists and serves on their Board of Directors. Eddie’s artwork has been selected for many prestigious juried art shows, including Cambridge Art Association’s National Prize Show and Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts Annual Juried Exhibition. His public art projects include commissions by the City of Boston near Fenway Park and along the Rose Kennedy Greenway, and along the Boston Marathon Route in Natick, MA.
