Diabetes Self-Management 101

Adult Education / Be a Better You -

Whether you/your family member are newly diagnosed with diabetes or you simply want to strengthen your knowledge of diabetes management, this class is for you. Topics will include: the differences between Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, risk factors for developing diabetes, tips for using a blood glucose meter, blood glucose goals, hyperglycemia symptoms, injecting and storing insulin, sharps disposal, hypoglycemia symptoms and treatment, and the MyPlate method for planning meals. Participants will also receive a handout with the ADA management skills. Limited to 30.
