Perspective Drawing WorkshopCreate and MakeHave you ever wanted to draw something in 3-D? In this introductory class, you will learn how to create amazing depth effects and master perspective drawing. Every object has three dimensions: height, width, and depth. Yet, in drawing, the artist only has a flat, two-dimensional surface to work on. This class will help you better understand perspective drawing, starting with exercises on basic shapes, landscapes, interior rooms, or cityscapes. Topics such as viewpoints, one-point perspective, two-point perspective, and three-point perspective will be covered, and maybe even a few optical illusion drawings. You will be guided through a series of exercises designed to master these important drawing concepts. Artists of all levels are welcome. A materials list can be found here.Adult Summer 2025

Walking Tour: Brookline's Hidden RiverExperience and ExploreDid you know that there is a river running through Brookline Village? Boston's Muddy River is a significant part of Frederick Law Olmsted's Emerald Necklace, a string of parks from Boston Common to Franklin Park. For years the river has been easy to ignore, hidden as it is by stone and earthen walls, scrubby plants, bridges, and wide busy streets. Recently, a $93 million restoration aimed at flood control has exposed the river's beauty. Join us to stroll from Brookline Village to the Charles River in Back Bay, following the river's path. We will visit the famous Dutch House, Longwood, the Landmark Center, and the Fens with its rose garden, war memorials, and victory gardens. We end at Charlesgate for a glimpse of the river as it wends its way beneath roadways and bridges to the Charles. Note: You will return to Brookline Village via the Green Line from Kenmore Square.Adult Summer 2025
