    Even if you have never swung a club, this clinic will provide you with the skills and confidence to play golf. The program will include instruction in the development of a full swing, plus short game fundamentals: putting, chipping and pitching. On the 3rd day, if the course is not in heavy use, participants will have the opportunity to play some holes. All equipment is provided. Program takes place, rain or shine.

  • Bicycle Safety and Beautiful Summer Rides

    Are you fairly new to cycling or want to to feel more confident or safe on the road? No matter your bike of choice (road bike, e-bike or hybrid), this class will teach you how to ride safely and with confidence, alone or on a group ride. We will begin with instruction on bike safety checks, accident avoidance techniques, handling and shifting, fixing a flat and protocols for group riding. After, there will be an optional, leader led leisurely, no drop, 18 mile ride on quiet roads, to practice group riding skills. Bring your bike, helmet and gear. Group discussion and some snacks will be provided following the ride.

  • Campfire Guitar for Beginners

    Have you been wanting to learn how to play guitar, with visions of strumming songs around the campfire or on your porch? If that is the case, this beginner class is perfect for you. Instructor Ethan Emery, from Rob's Guitar School, a Berklee College of Music alum, has extensive teaching experience and patience and understanding with beginners, making him the perfect instructor for this class. Marvel as you find yourself playing songs within the first couple of classes! Students must have their own guitar and tuner. Links to affordable guitars and tuners on Amazon can be provided upon request (approx. $90). Teaching materials will be provided by Rob’s Guitar School during the course of the program and are covered by the course fee.

  • Ceramics and Nature

    Spend two relaxing evenings crafting a hand-built vase, bowl, platter or project of your choice, embellished with floral and leaf imprints. The instructor will teach you various ceramic hand-build techniques (including coil, slab and pinch), along with glazing options. You can choose which techniques to incorporate into your piece. Pieces wiil be fired in the instructor’s kiln between classes, so that it will be ready to glaze on the second evening. Note: A $40 materials fee is payable to the instructor in class.

What you might not know is that you can eliminate a lot of the stress by planning ahead--the earlier the better! This interactive session will give parents of any high school student an understanding of the college admissions timeline, and what they can be doing now to reduce the stress often associated with the process. It is also a type of writing not commonly taught in the classroom; the personal narrative.     Over three days, tour a range of colleges that will enable you to compare types of schools (e.g. large/small, or private/state) and their settings (rural/suburban/urban). You will visit the following colleges and universities*: Bryant College, University of Rhode Island, Emerson College, Tufts University, UMass Lowell and Endicott College. (*This plan may change slightly, but similar colleges/universities will be substituted.) At each college we tour, you will meet with admissions officers who will describe what it takes to get into their school, what majors and programs they offer, and how students spend their out-of-class time. Campus tours at each school will help you find out which schools have the classroom and lab spaces, dormitories, athletic facilities, libraries, computer facilities, student activities, etc. that appeal to you the most. After the visits, you will have a clearer picture of various types of schools, and what you are looking for in a school. It’s not necessary that you are interested in the specific schools being visited; simply seeing the range of schools can help you zero in on what you want and need in a college. Please note that the times listed below are approximate since the schedule of tours and info sessions is not yet finalized. You will be contacted with a detailed itinerary, including specific departure and return times, at least a week before the program begins.

    Embark on an exciting journey into the world of disc golf with our two-session introductory class designed for beginners eager to discover the thrill of this dynamic sport. Whether you're a curious first-timer or someone looking to build a solid foundation, this course will provide you with the essential skills and knowledge needed to enjoy the game. Bring the whole family (children must be 10+ years old)! Session 1: Disc Golf Basics and Techniques The first session kicks off with an exploration of the basic principles of disc golf. You will be introduced to the rules, equipment, and etiquette of the game. Get hands-on experience as you learn the fundamentals of proper grip, stance, and throwing techniques for both putting and driving. Session 2: We’ll apply the skills you gained in session one to a real course. Borderland State Park, on the Sharon-Easton line is one of the top courses in the area. It is a course with four different layouts and we will break into foursomes and play the shortest layout.
